It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rev. Dee Dale.
It was Rev. Dee who shepherded MCC Louisville’s front-line response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic throughout the late 1980s and 1990s.
It was Rev. Dee who, despite credible death threats, marched in the 1987 March for Justice while wearing a bulletproof vest.
It was Rev. Dee who many attribute to this day as the first member of clergy to tell them that God loves them exactly as they are.
It was Rev. Dee who, after every crisis and every setback, remained faithful to her call to ministry and her belief in a place for all people to worship and belong at a time when the LGBTQ+ community needed it the most.
We are forever grateful for her legacy of inclusion, of advocacy, of care, of faithfulness, and of love. While we grieve the loss of her in this world, we rejoice knowing she is in the presence of Jesus and her wife, Judy.
For all who knew and loved her, please share any stories or words of comfort and prayer for her family and friends.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." – Matthew 5:1
A service will be held at MCC Louisville. Arrangements will be shared once they are finalized.
