It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that the Rev. Edison Amos, a retired Elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference, died on August 3. Rev. Amos, 96, was the second-oldest clergyperson in the Baltimore-Washington Conference. He was ordained in 1955 and served in several leadership positions in the church including Westwood, Dumbarton, Epworth Chapel, Good Shepherd, Rockville, and Potomac United Methodist Churches.
A joint celebration of life for both Rev. Edison Amos and his wife, Mary Ellen Amos, who preceded him in death in 2019, will be held in the fall of 2026 at Potomac United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) or to organizations supporting women's theological education and leadership in ministry.
