In Memory of Robert Moore

March 16, 1956 – April 24, 2023

Robert Wesley Moore was born to Maurice and Roberta Moore in Rochester, Pennsylvania, on March 16, 1956. He attended Beaver Area High School in Beaver, Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated in 1979 with a BA in Speech Communications and Theater. He received his MDiv in 1984 from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Following a call to Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bradford, Pennsylvania, he was ordained on October 21st of that year.


Robert was married to his wife, Lorraine, in August of 1980 and their two sons,  Matthew and Mark, were born to the couple during their first call in Bradford. Pastor Moore later served as Pastor of Tabor Lutheran Church, Kane, PA; Assistant to the Bishop, TX-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod, Houston, TX; Executive Director of Briarwood Retreat Center, Argyle, TX; Pastor of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Dallas, TX; Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Carlisle, PA; and Interim Pastor at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.


After serving in ministry for 36 years, Pastor Moore retired in November of 2021. In 2022, he and Lorraine moved to New Braunfels, TX.  Pastor Moore died on April 24, 2023. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Elizabeth, and sons Matthew Robert Moore and Mark William (Jessica) Moore. 


A Celebration of Life is planned for the September weekend following Labor Day.
