In Memory of LAPD Police Officer Fernando Arroyos
Dear Members,
Last night, our brother LAPD Police Officer Fernando Arroyos’ life was tragically taken by a group of cowards who murdered him in an attempted armed robbery. Officer Arroyos was off-duty with his girlfriend looking for a home to buy when he was killed.
This is an unfathomable loss for Fernando’s family, friends, coworkers, and Academy classmates. Our entire LAPD family is mourning. Now is the time to pray for Fernando’s family and his girlfriend and to keep the officers who worked daily alongside Fernando in our thoughts. He was assigned to Olympic Division and served as an LAPD officer for three years.
Officer Arroyos’ death is a grim reminder that safety on the streets of Los Angeles is fleeting and that there is a growing disregard for human life and overt violence festering in our city. There is absolutely no reason why a promising young officer looking to invest in the very community he served is no longer with us.

The LASD is the lead investigating agency for Fernando’s murder, and that investigation is ongoing. We are hopeful that those responsible will be arrested quickly and brought to justice. They do not deserve their freedom, nor should they have the opportunity to victimize anyone again in Los Angeles.

Please take time tonight and over the next few days to appreciate your loved ones and to remember that time is precious, and to always look out for one another.
In Solidarity,

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
