The Witch of Wall Street: Conversation & Book Signing with Patricia Chadwick

Thursday, November 6 at 6:00pm

Hear from one of Greenwich’s legends and leading women, in a conversation moderated by Jennifer Openshaw, Chair of Girls With Impact (GWI). In her newest book, Breaking Glass, Patricia delves into her story—kicked out of a cult at seventeen, Patricia Walsh Chadwick started on the bottom rung of the ladder in the world of business and worked her way to the top, breaking through the glass ceiling to become a global partner at Invesco. Patricia, on the Board of the Bruce Museum, is known to many for her leadership advancing women and under-served communities. Book signing and meet and greet reception will follow the conversation. Books will be available for sale from Diane's Books. This event is presented by Girls with Impact, working to level the playing field for women in business.

Charities and IRAs: Know Your QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions)

Wednesday, November 5 at 6:00pm

Join Julie Jason, JD, LLM, for an insightful discussion on how QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distribution) work, rules to follow for charities and donors, and examples of charities leveraging this powerful fund-raising strategy. What do charities have to do with IRAs? The unlikely connection is called a QCD that allowa high-net-worth individuals with IRAs (Individual Retirement Accounts) who don’t need their RMDs (required minimum distributions) to avoid taxable income on their RMDs by donating their RMDs to charity. If you represent a non-profit, attend this program to learn how to help donors take advantage of QCDs. If you are a high-net-worth individual and have an IRA in RMD stage (age 73 for IRA owners) and you’d love to give your RMD to charity while avoiding taxes on the RMD, learn how to do a QCD.
