Language Testing

Many Chinese-language-related jobs request that applicants provide their language proficiency scores. However, it can be challenging to find opportunities to take exams such as the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI ) or the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT).

Fortunately, the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) provides members with access to free language proficiency testing. The National Language Service Corps (NLSC) is a congressionally authorized program that supports Federal Government partners through translation, interpretation, instruction, and cultural advising. Members are highly skilled language professionals who connect, share, and grow through networking, training, and testing opportunities.

NLSC offers its members the opportunity to take the OPI and the DLPT as a no-cost benefit, and will also provide resources to ensure members are prepared before their scheduled test date.
