2020 Annual Water Quality Report:
We're fortunate in Whitefish Bay to have excellent drinking water from the North Shore Water Commission.
The North Shore Water Commission, in cooperation with its member utilities, publishes a water quality report annually. The report is designed so that residents can clearly understand what’s in the drinking water and how to obtain additional information. Click here to view the 2020 Water Quality Report.
The North Shore Water Commission operates and maintains the Water Filtration Plant at 400 West Bender Road in Glendale as well as the Raw Water Pumping Station located in Whitefish Bay. The North Shore Water Commission is responsible for purifying and pumping potable water to its member utilities which include Fox Point, Glendale, and Whitefish Bay. Whitefish Bay Named Tree City USA:
For the 27th year in a row, the Village of Whitefish Bay was named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Whitefish Bay achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: a tree board or forestry department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
With Tree City USA recognition, Whitefish Bay has demonstrated a commitment to effective urban forest management!
The Village will be hosting an Arbor Day celebration at Klode Park to plant a tree on Friday, April 30. More details to come!

Spring Rx Drug Take Back Day:
|
|
The next National Take Back Day will be April 24, 2021. This event is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs at locations in communities throughout the country. The event will be at Whitefish Bay Village Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 24, 2021.
The October 2020 Take Back Day brought in 9 boxes (over 205 pounds) worth of medications in Whitefish Bay! Nationwide, the DEA collected a record-high amount of expired, unwanted, and unused prescription medications, with the public turning in close to 500 tons of unwanted drugs. Over the 10-year span of Take Back Day, DEA has brought in more than 6,800 tons of prescription drugs. With studies indicating a majority of abused prescription drugs come from family and friends, including from home medicine cabinets, clearing out unused medicine is essential.
