Thank you to everyone that joined us in Colorado Springs last week for the CSG West Annual Meeting. It was great seeing and engaging with members once again. We hope that attendees found the sessions informative and were able to connect with colleagues during the meeting.

In Remembrance - Arizona Representative Frank Pratt
The CSG West family extends our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Arizona Representative Frank Pratt. Known for his quiet dedication to public service, his presence will be greatly missed.
Congratulations to Senator Bill Hansell
During the Annual Meeting each year, the CSG West Executive Committee elects an incoming vice chair based on the recommendations of the Nominating Committee. It is our pleasure to congratulate and introduce the newly elected 2022 CSG West Vice Chair, Oregon Senator Bill Hansell.

With a long history of engagement with CSG West, Senator Hansell is the current chair of the Legislative Council on River Governance (LCRG), a member of the Executive Committee, and was a past committee chair. Additionally, he is a 2017 Tolls Fellow and alumnus of the 2013 Western Legislative Academy (WLA). We are grateful for his participation and look forward to working with him as a CSG West Officer.
CSG Twenty Under Forty Leadership Award Recipients
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2021 Twenty Under Forty leadership award. An annual honor recognizing the outstanding work of 20 emerging leaders from across the country, the award is given to those demonstrating a commitment to service in their states, as well as strong leadership skills.

We are excited to honor our western members and extend our heartfelt congratulations to:

Senator T’wina Nobles, Washington;
Representative Candice Pierucci, Utah;

Economic Empowerment of Refugees - Recording Now Available!
Hosted in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), this session of the Legislative Exchange series addressed the topic of economic empowerment for refugees resettling in the United States. A key point of discussion, IRC staff shared ideas on successfully connecting the labor skills of refugees with local workforce needs, as well as legislative actions taken in various states that are helping to advance such efforts.
