It is with a heavy heart that Melissa and I inform you of the passing of a giant of the faith. Pastor Don Frye, a Credentialed Minister, Church Planter, Missionary, Pastor, Regional Board member and servant of Open Bible, has fought his fight and finished his race. I can say with full assurance that he not only kept the faith, but he was a torch barrier and trail blazer of the faith. What a life he lived for the kingdom of God....For more than 57 years, Pastor Don worked through Open Bible to till, plant, and harvest for his best friend Jesus! This man of faith modeled and lived out what a true relationship with Jesus should look like! Pastor Don was a gentle giant of the faith, and only heaven can truly reveal the thousands of lives affected by his ministry and servanthood. However, no lives were effected greater than his family. Although serving God was his passion, his family was his priority, and everyone of them knew it! You can not say the name Don Frye without saying the name of his wife and partner in ministry of 55 years... Lee Ann. Don & Lee Ann Frye... these two have left a legacy that will be felt for many generations to come! Their four daughters have all received that biblical mandate to serve the Lord with all their hearts, and that passion has trickled down to the grandkids and great-grandkids. I am confident that heart for God will continue to trickle down for many more generations to come! Although our hearts are grieving at OUR loss, we likewise celebrate for heaven’s gain! This is what Pastor Don lived for... to see his Jesus face to face! I am confident that the first words of Christ to Pastor Don was... “Good and faithful serva nt, I am pleased”! What a legacy and heritage!
