From the desk of Father Tri | | |
My dear parishioners,
We celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints every year on November 1, followed the next day, November 2, by the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. These celebrations are rich in meaning for our lives. On All Saints Day, we honor those saints whose holiness the Church has officially recognized through canonization, as well as the many holy men and women who are not known to us by name but who now share the perfect happiness of heaven in union with the Holy Trinity.
We are also reminded of the communion of saints: the spiritual bond among us, the faithful still journeying on earth; the saints in heaven; and the faithful departed who are undergoing purification. The saints in heaven intercede for us and encourage us as we follow the path toward eternal life. The Church’s communion is not broken by death; it continues in Christ and is destined to find its fullness in eternal life. We, too, can help the faithful departed through our prayers, the offering of the Eucharist, works of mercy, and indulgences. We are not alone in our journey of faith, and death does not break the communion we share in Christ.
This understanding helps us appreciate the opportunity to obtain an indulgence for the faithful departed. On November 2, a person who devoutly visits a church and recites the Our Father and the Creed there may obtain a plenary indulgence applicable to the souls in purgatory, provided the usual conditions for a plenary indulgence are also fulfilled. A separate plenary indulgence may be obtained by devoutly visiting a cemetery and praying for the dead on any day from November 1 through November 8.
An indulgence does not forgive the sins of the deceased. Rather, it is a gift of the Church offered for their benefit, entrusting them to God’s mercy. Let us remember the faithful departed with prayer and love, and commend them to God.
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Father Tri John-Bosco Nguyen
Rector and Pastor

On Monday, November 2, we will commemorate All Souls’ Day and honor the memory of all the faithful departed. This annual observance reminds us of the enduring bond we share with our deceased family members and friends
and invites us to remember them in prayer.
Masses will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m., 12:10 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.(bilingual).
We also invite you to include the names and intentions of your deceased loved ones in our All Souls Novena of Masses, November 2–11. May our prayers bring comfort and hope as we entrust those who have gone before us to God’s eternal love and mercy. You may use the envelope included in your packet, or visit our parish website to add your loved one’s name online.

Discern Your Vocation
How is Christ inviting you to serve his church with your life?
Every person is created by God and meant for a unique purpose. The Archdiocese of Atlanta offers services to help you discern how God is calling you to a life of holiness. Whether it is a call to priesthood, diaconate, religious life or marriage, we will walk with you in your discernment, offering prayer, guidance and support.
A vocation is a profound commitment to follow God’s call. The Church needs faithful disciples who are willing to say “yes” to the Lord. Wherever you are in your journey, we invite you to take the next step in prayer and openness in God’s plan.
