Successful Edina Give & Go Gear Swap
Last weekend Edina community members came together to re-purpose gear. In total, 50 community members volunteered their time, 220 families gave gear, and over 330 families received gear. Together, the community raised over $10,000 that will help ensure every EPS student is able to GO get involved in academic, art, and athletic opportunities in the community.
Edina Grows Readers
At the end of March last year, the district launched a new literacy campaign: Edina Grows Readers. The goal of the campaign is to increase the amount of time students read outside of school through book suggestions, reminders about the importance of reading, and other resources for improved literacy. Since then, students and families have been accessing the variety of resources on the Edina Grows Readers webpage . Even during the summer months, there were hundreds of visits to the page - supporting the goal of encouraging summer reading.

We want to thank you for your support of Edina Grows Readers and want to encourage you to continue to help us supporting literacy both inside and outside of school. You can print bookmarks and “What I’m Reading” posters, check out the monthly book lists and continue using the hashtag #EdinaGrowsReaders on social media. This campaign isn’t just for teachers and the classroom - it’s about creating a culture of reading throughout the district.

Check out the "Books Kids Love" list for September.
