Wear Jeans For Voting in The Primaries!

Did you know that the state legislature controls how much money school districts receive? Your vote decides who has a say in teacher pay, resources for school safety and security, and more.

To encourage voting, Sherman ISD will allow staff to wear jeans any day you wear an ‘I voted sticker’ through March 5! There is no limit to the number of days you can wear jeans during this time period, so be sure to get a sticker when you vote, save it and wear it each time you wear jeans!

Early voting runs through Friday, and Election Day is next Tuesday, March 5. Any registered Texas voter can vote in either party’s primary. More information about how and where to vote is available at votetexas.gov.

Sherman ISD Police Add K-9 Officer

You might have seen her on campus - K-9 Officer Jolene, the newest member of the Sherman ISD Police Department, received her official police badge at Monday night’s Board meeting! Her handler, SISD Police Officer Tayelor Doty, has an Air Force background in K-9 handling. Having SISD police conduct campus searches allows them to occur more frequently, and at a reduced cost, with the addition of firearms and ammunition detection, which was not included as part of the previous contracted services.
