Fantastic Staff of the Year Honored
Sherman ISD honored our 2022-2023 Staff of the Year last week with a little help from their friends, family, colleagues and students! Watch the video with highlights from our surprises! Congratulations to:

  • Priscilla Burns, Neblett - Elementary Teacher of the Year
  • Melody Young, SHS - Secondary Teacher of the Year
  • Arielle Harmon, Wakefield - New Teacher of the Year
  • Ilse Boone, Crutchfield - Employee of the Year
  • Special Services, Dillingham - Team of the Year
  • Eric Ross, Dillingham - Volunteer of the Year
Thank You for Voting!
Sherman ISD is grateful for the tremendous support our community showed for our Sherman public schools. Both bond propositions passed by large margins in the election that concluded May 6. Watch our thank you video!

With a 71% approval rate, Bond Proposition A had the highest passing percentage in the entire state of Texas of school districts with bond propositions of more than $475 million dollars! With a 64% approval rate, Bond Proposition B had the third highest passing percentage in Texas for athletic stadiums!

We are thankful for the large percentage of Sherman ISD staff who voted! While many employees do not live in SISD, an estimated 67% of SISD employees who were eligible to vote in the bond election went to the polls. Thank you for voting! We are excited about what these bond projects will mean for our students, staff and community!

TEA Taking Input on Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is collecting input regarding implementation, perceived effectiveness, and impact of the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). The data collected in this survey will be used to refine existing resources and to plan support for consistent and effective statewide implementation. Survey results are completely anonymous, and the data obtained will be used to analyze general observation trends across the state.

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will close by the end of day on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Staff Invited to Complete TEA Survey on Special Education Services
Sherman ISD is currently participating in the ongoing monitoring of our special education supports and services in partnership with the Texas Education Agency. Districts are required to participate in this process every 6 years.

As part of the Differentiated Monitoring and Support process, TEA asks for input from all stakeholders, including general education and special education staff, teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators and more. Please provide feedback by completing this brief survey using the links below.

Please note this survey information goes directly to TEA. They will use responses to provide Sherman ISD with feedback. The survey link is included in the linked letters, which describe the process in more detail.
