The Early Bird Gets the Jeans
Exercise your right to vote this spring! Early voting begins Monday, April 24 in the May 6 local Texas elections.

After you vote, wear or show your "I voted" sticker at work and get the opportunity to wear jeans every day from the time you vote through Election Day.

Keep in mind, you do not need to live in Sherman ISD, Grayson County or the State of Texas to take advantage of this opportunity. There are elections happening across the state. If you live in Oklahoma, please encourage a friend or family member who lives in Texas to vote.

Remember, your election ballot will only include the two Sherman ISD bond propositions and SISD School Board races if you live in Sherman ISD. If you live outside the district, your ballot may contain other propositions and races based on where you live. Click here to view all the sample ballots for Grayson County voters. Grayson County residents may vote at any polling location in Grayson County.

Be an informed voter, make your voice heard and wear jeans through Election Day! See below for voting dates and times.
Bond Election Voting Dates and Locations
Early voting begins Monday and runs through May 2, with Election Day on May 6. Voting locations in Sherman are the Sherman ISD Service Center and the Election Administration at 115 W. Houston across from the courthouse. For other voting locations in Grayson County, click here.
Good Ideas Regarding the Bond Election!
Please keep in the following in mind as voting begins and we approach Election Day:

  • School district employees are encouraged to share factual information about the bond at any time.
  • Employees are free to get involved in the election and advocate on their own time, using their own resources.
  • Employees cannot use district time or resources to advocate for a particular outcome in the election.

Thousands of Dollars in Bonuses Available to Current Employees
Sherman ISD is offering a $1,000 referral bonus for current employees who bring certified Texas teachers to work in SISD for the 2023-2024 school year. Tell your teacher friends about the great things happening in Sherman, and encourage them to join our Bearcat family!

In addition, all employees will receive bonuses totaling $2,000 next school year on top of their regular compensation. Additional details related to staff compensation for the 2023-24 school year are still being determined and will be finalized when the Board approves our budget in June.
