$1,000 Referral Bonus Available
to Current Employees
Sherman ISD is offering a $1,000 referral bonus for current employees who bring certified Texas teachers to work in SISD for the 2023-2024 school year. Tell your teacher friends about the great things happening in Sherman, and encourage them to join our Bearcat family!

In addition, all employees will receive bonuses totaling $2,000 next school year on top of their regular compensation. Additional details related to staff compensation for the 2023-24 school year are still being determined and will be finalized when the Board approves our budget in June.
Sherman ISD to Provide Educational Services for New Alternative Education Program
Sherman ISD is excited to partner with Grayson County Juvenile Services on a new Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) that will launch in fall 2023. The JJAEP will serve students from across Grayson County facing expulsion from school for serious offenses.

Grayson County Juvenile Services will operate the program and SISD will provide basic educational services, similar to existing partnerships for the Juvenile Detention Center, Grayson County Post-Adjudication Facility and Monarch Center. Jenifer Politi will serve as principal of the JJAEP.

Texas Education Code mandates a JJAEP for counties with a population greater than 125,000, and Grayson County surpassed that threshold in the 2020 census. The SISD DAEP will continue to serve students for more minor violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

Submit Documentation

Staff members should submit a total of at least six hours of staff development for this day. Your supervisor may have additional opportunities for training.

This exchange day does not apply to cafeteria monitors, crossing guards, custodial, 260-day M&O, grounds, warehouse, campus-based food service workers, transportation drivers, maintenance or our police officers. If you have a question about April 10, please visit with your supervisor.

District offices will be closed on this day.
