It's Time To Vote!
Early voting has begun for the May 6 local elections, which includes the two SISD bond propositions and a contested School Board race. Early voting runs through May 2 with Election Day on May 6. Stop by this week after school; the polls are open until 5 p.m.!
The Early Bird Gets the Jeans
After you vote, wear or show your "I voted" sticker at work and get the opportunity to wear jeans every day from the time you vote through Election Day. The earlier you vote, the longer you can wear jeans!

Keep in mind, you do not need to live in Sherman ISD, Grayson County or the State of Texas to take advantage of this opportunity. There are elections happening across the state. If you live in Oklahoma, please encourage a friend or family member who lives in Texas to vote.

Remember, your election ballot will only include the two Sherman ISD bond propositions and SISD School Board races if you live in Sherman ISD. If you live outside the district, your ballot may contain other propositions and races based on where you live. Click here to view all the sample ballots for Grayson County voters. Grayson County residents may vote at any polling location in Grayson County
Share Bond Information and
Encourage Others to Vote!
SISD is sharing a ton of information on our district YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter account and Instagram account regarding the upcoming bond election. Please share these posts!

Remember, employees are free to share factual information about the bond at any time! Know the basics but don’t feel like you have to be an expert in construction, school finance or operations to share your opinion about the importance of the proposed projects. Just don’t tell anyone how to vote on district time or using district equipment! You can advocate on your own time, using your own personal channels and resources.

Thousands of Dollars in Bonuses Available to Current Employees
Sherman ISD is offering a $1,000 referral bonus for current employees who bring certified Texas teachers to work in SISD for the 2023-2024 school year. Tell your teacher friends about the great things happening in Sherman, and encourage them to join our Bearcat family!

In addition, all employees will receive bonuses totaling $2,000 next school year on top of their regular compensation. Additional details related to staff compensation for the 2023-24 school year are still being determined and will be finalized when the Board approves our budget in June.

Participate in Your Child’s Graduation
Graduation is a major milestone for students and their families. The Senior Class of 2023 will celebrate their years of hard work and dedication at their Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

Only one employee, parent or legal guardian will be permitted to be on the field to hand the diploma to their student during the graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, the staging area is not conducive to both being present on the platform.

For parents of Sherman High School students, please email Assistant Principal Suzanne Richardson (sugreen@shermanisd.net) AND Secretary Julie Pearcy (jpearcy@shermanisd.net). For parents of Jefferson Learning Center students, please email Principal Jim May (jimay@shermanisd.net). Please inform them by May 15.
