SNAPSHOT: During this week's School Board meeting, EHS Assistant Principal Mike Pretasky and Parent Mosaic were recognized for their work in promoting understanding and community among EHS parents and families. Parents meet monthly and have small group conversations with an aim to eliminate barriers and preconceptions that would otherwise prevent them from getting to know one another.

Congratulations to EHS athletic teams!

 EHS Boys' Swimming and Diving and Boys' Hockey both became 2019 MSHSL State 2AA Champions!

 Three Edina High School students have received Aspiration in Computing (AiC) awards presented by the National Center for Women and Information (NCWIT) Technology. These students will receive scholarship opportunities, entry to peer-network of technical women in the NCWIT AiC community, an engraved award, and various other prizes.

 Meadow Roberts, 5th grader at Countryside Elementary, has found a way to turn an after school hobby into a treat national audiences can enjoy. Meadow, who started baking when she was two, is among the final three contestants competing on the Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship.

T he bell rings and students rush to the pool in hopes of not missing a single moment of Flex. It’s Friday at South View Middle School and students have come to the pool for one specific purpose: to improve the ir swimming skills.

District, city demographic study report presented

 On March 6, the Edina School Board and Edina City Council gathered to hear the report on the demographic, enrollment and housing study recently conducted. View the presentation on the City of Edina Facebook page.
M arch 11 Regular Meeting

Highlights from the March 11 meeting of the School Board include:
  • Recognition of Assistant Principal Mike Pretasky for his role in bringing together and on-going facilitation of the Parent Mosaic group
  • Presentation by Superintendent Sandra Lewandowski about District 287
  • Approval of the 2019-20 Preliminary Budget
The next regular meeting of the School Board is Monday, April. 15, at 7 p.m., in ECC Room 349.
