SNAPSHOT: Grade 9 Repertory Orchestra hosted grade 8 orchestra students for a mass rehearsal the day before winter break. The event was about making connections for the 167 students, and also about eating donut holes - 600 to be exact! The public is invited to an Education Legislative Platform Breakfast hosted by the School Board Legislative Action Committee on Monday, Jan. 7, 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Edina Community Center, Room 350.

A grant from the Edina Community Health Commission has provided funding for a chemical dependency counselor on-campus at Edina High School, providing support that had been a missing link in the continuum of services focused on student mental health.

Sarah Ward, a faculty member at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, will be the guest speaker at the next Edina Public Schools Student Learning Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the South View Middle School Auditorium. The topic for the evening’s presentation is “Learning and Executive Function.”

School Board Update
Two meetings in January

The School Board will hold two regular meetings in January:
  • Monday, Jan. 7 p.m., ECC Room 349, is the Board's annual organizational meeting with a brief agenda primarily focused on naming Board officers for the year. Following adjournment, the Board will move to Room 350 for a Work Session.
  • Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m., ECC Room 349, is the monthly regular meeting.

Regular meetings of the School Board are live streamed on the district's YouTube channel. To watch, click on the YouTube icon at the bottom of every district website page, or on the link on the School Board Meetings web page.
Q&A Sessions are held as requested. View more information about Q&A sessions and the form to submit questions. Questions must be submitted by 3 p.m. one week prior to each session. Sessions are held at 6:30 p.m., prior to a regular Board meeting.
