SNAPSHOT: EHS hosted a safe driving event this week, in which students interacted with first responders, drove a pedal car while wearing drunk goggles, and viewed a car involved in a fatal accident. This event was held to encourage students to be safe as they leave for the summer.
Latest Headlines

Infinite Campus has recently upgraded its parent and student portal and has released two new mobile apps for parents and students. The previous version of the website and app will no longer be supported after July 1, 2019.

Edina Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Domer as the next principal at Concord Elementary School. Domer brings 11 years of experience in elementary school leadership.

Thirty-nine Edina Public Schools students were presented with medals and certificates for their accomplishments on the National Latin Exam. Students who participated in the exam prepared outside of class by reading stories of mythology and history, as well as studying derivatives and poetry.
Margo Bauck, retiring director of Edina Public Schools Business Services Department, was presented the Outstanding Lifetime Contribution Award by the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) at their annual conference in Duluth, May 9.

Edina High School students, their families, and administrators welcomed 18 students from Andong Schools in South Korea. These students will be experiencing Edina life with their host families and students for two weeks, and next fall, the Edina students who hosted the South Korean students will travel to Andong, staying with their brother/sister families and attending school there.
School Board Update

The Legislative Action Committee (LAC) invites interested Edina school district parents, students and community members to join them in their work to inform and coordinate advocacy on issues affecting public education.
May 20 Board Meeting

Highlights from the May 20 regular meeting of the School Board include:
  • Recognition of the EHS Green Machine robotics team for outstanding achievement in national competition; and three Valley View students for outstanding achievement in the state science fair
  • Presentation of the Alt Comp Report
  • Approval of the purchase of Chromebooks for two grade levels
The next regular meeting of the School Board is Monday, June 17, at 7 p.m., in ECC Room 349.

Mock Trial seeks courtroom veterans to coach

 EHS Mock Trial is looking for courtroom veterans to volunteer as coaches for the 2019-2020 school year. Whether currently practicing or retired, your talents and experience could be a huge benefit to students. The Mock Trial season runs from October until early February, with a practice schedule of twice a week for 1 1/2 hours per session after school. It is a perfect way to share your expertise with high school students who really want to learn and compete in courtroom law. For more information, please contact John Justic e.
