MAY & JUNE 2018 NEWSLETTER

May is National Foster Care Month. Did you know that more than 64,000 children and youth are in foster care in California?

About 25,000 foster youth from 18-21 "age out" of the foster care system  without the skills and resources to live and make it on their own.

Our sincerest thank you to all of our partners and volunteers for helping us to change this staggering statistic through our programs.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
"As a former foster youth, I am all too familiar with the challenges that life brings to tell you that you won't make it in this world or amount to anything. With faith, determination, and support, I overcame the limitations of being a foster youth. I founded The Empowerment Center to be the difference that I once needed. It's my goal to help youth and families develop the resilience necessary to overcome challenges, discover the best of themselves and create healthier, happier patterns of living. Today we have reached over 750 families and 4500 youth and counting... Thank you for making a difference with us." - Tiffany Baker, Founder
