In VIDEO: Adaptation Fund Country Exchange in Semarang and Pekalongan, Indonesia

The Adaptation Fund (AF) and co-host Kemitraan, the Fund’s accredited national implementing entity (NIE) in Indonesia, brought together local government leaders and 20 of AF’s NIEs from across the globe to meet in Central Java last June for a country knowledge exchange and visit to an AF-funded project in Pekalongan City.

The 5-day exchange, focused on the theme of Ecosystem-Based Adaptation, included three days of workshops in which Kemitraan shared its project development processes, criteria and background, and NIEs exchanged experiences with their own projects around the world in a knowledge fair. It also included a visit to the innovative AF-funded coastal management project in Pekalongan that is implemented by Kemitraan, and is helping vulnerable communities adapt and build resilience to sea level rise through a variety of adaptation approaches.
