In vitro drug combination studies provide a valuable tool to screen and identify promising combinations of drugs that might be useful in clinical studies. The goal is to find the best therapeutic efficacy to treat cancer and other diseases.
HemoGenix® provides a number of drug combination studies using their proprietary in vitro platforms including, but not limited to measuring:
- Antagonistic effects, where the combined effect may be less than that expected.
- Synergy or additive effects, where the drugs might enhance each other in different ways.
- Dose response ratios to determined which doses of one drug affect the other and visa versa.
- Cytotoxicity to determine potential safety of the combination therapy.
- Cellular mechanism of action to determine how the combination of drugs work at the cellular level.
