IN YOUR CORNER
This week..

I am grateful for this past week to visit family, share stories of the past, honor the memories of those we still miss especially at holiday time, and for all the home made goodies. Mostly, I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who have always been in my corner, my family's corner.

Now it's time to be in YOUR corner. As you can see by the January calendar...our plate is full. We kick the month off with an After 5 at The Taproom sponsored by Edward Jones featuring Community Action Pioneer Valley , then an Instagram To Boost Your Business intensive morning workshop hosted by Hampshire Hospitality , and our Annual Meeting. At our Annual Meeting, we will gather in community to welcome our new board members, honor those who are going off the board after serving us with devotion and diligence, and acknowledge our incredible group of Ambassadors. In January, we will also announce new sponsorship opportunities that will help all member businesses - large and small - to join in at a level that is comfortable and provides exposure. The January buzz will continue as close the month sharing n the opening and Ribbon Cutting of Amherst House of Power in downtown Amherst.

We will also be launching our survey results and goals as a result, so thank you to all who participated. We received incredibly valuable and honest feedback that will serve as a guide for moving forward. With it will include a plan for bringing a women's series together due to an overwhelming positive response to move in that direction.

Also grateful for our leadership, our volunteers and our college partners who bring a diversity of ideas and opinions to our work. Over the month of January, a UMass graduate team will do a full SEO and social media analysis to identify areas of strength and weakness to more fully inform our marketing efforts. Again, all to bring the best possible benefits to our members.

In January, your Chamber will also serve as a fiscal sponsor for several area agencies in need of such vital support to move their work forward. More details to come but get ready to partner with us in multiple ways in the New Year. We are in your corner.

Finally, I am grateful knowing we are ending the year in a much stronger place ready to embrace new ideas, programs and increased vitality to bring the Amherst Area Chamber family the visibility it deserves. Amherst, you have arrived! See you in the New Year.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR WRAPS UP
Tuesday marked the end of the "9 Lies That Are Holding Back Your Business" seminar. When asked would you encourage others to participate in something like this in the future one class member responded, "Do it! Great way to get out of your business to work on it, not in it." That is what business development looks like.
We would like to once again thank  Joshua Hornick Coaching  and  Isenberg School of Management  for partnering with us to provide this amazing professional development opportunity to our members.
