IN YOUR CORNER
This week..

The holiday season is upon us and it is a great time to support our members - from our local Hampshire Mall to our downtown businesses and North and South village centers, we have many business owners who would welcome your patronage.

#SmallBusinessSaturday is in full swing today and downtown parking is free on Saturday's for the holiday shopping season. Please shop small and local and bring big local benefit. It continues next Saturday with Pack the Sack !

Our Annual Lighting of the Merry Maple is this FRIDAY! Our TD Bank partners are excited to launch the event this year as Nate Davis, Amherst TD Bank Branch Manager shares, " TD Bank is delighted to once again sponsor The Merry Maple, a true highlight of the holiday season not only in Amherst, but the entire Pioneer Valley. We look forward to joining the community for an evening of festive music, bright lights, and good cheer!"

We have plenty of merriment with music from the Umass Marching Band , the Amherst High School Chorale and Hurricane Singers, and new this year, the DQ A Capella from Amherst College! Santa arrives with the fire truck, horse-drawn wagon rides from Muddy Brook Farm are back, stories and crafts at Strong House , photos with Santa or Flakey, and Atkins Cider donuts and cider warms us right up. And without the Amherst Business Improvement District , there wouldn't be a lighting. So come on over - it is a community event...for the kid in all of us!

And to keep the spirit of giving alive, please consider the work of our local non-profit members and give to your favorites on #GivingTuesday. From theater, like Ko Festival of Performance, community organizations like Community Action and the Family Outreach of Amherst , to museums, like our local Emily Dickinson Museum , there are over 60 worthy causes to support who serve unmet needs in our community.

Here's to ushering in the holiday season together.
