Holidays can be stressful in a number of ways — from eating too much, overcommitting, entertaining family, not sticking to our normal routines, and more. With all the craziness of the holidays, sometimes we forget to take care of #1 — ourselves!
Thanksgiving: Damage Done
WalletHub reports that a single Thanksgiving dinner takes a toll on Americans:
- We spend approximately 9.6 hours preparing.
- Hosts spend an average $396.
- We eat an estimated 3,150-4,500 calories! (To put that in perspective, it’d take 10 hours on a treadmill for an average man to work off 4,500 calories.)
- Men consume an average of 3.1 drinks; women drink 2.4.
- 11% of hosts regret hosting before the event even begins.
