Hello Happy Hooves friends and family,
Thank you to everyone who helped make Wines & Equines such a special evening and a great success! Over $29,000 was raised to support our non-profit therapeutic riding program. We cannot express how much we appreciate all of our supporters, including our Happy Hooves business partners who made donations to support Happy Hooves. Please be sure to check out some of these amazing people and organizations.
The photo featured here is David, a long-time rider of Happy Hooves, during the event's therapeutic riding demonstration. Click here to see the entire photo album from Wines & Equines!
And a big thank you to everyone who participated in our 18th annual Happy Hooves charity golf tournament at Fox Run Country Club! A bit soggy, but a fun time was had by all! Thanks to all of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers, we raised approximately $11,000 to help children and adults with physical, mental and emotional challenges through the power of the horse! Congratulations to all of our winning teams...we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
We wish you a wonderful time on this special holiday in American history. Happy 4th of July!
With our deepest gratitude,
Becky Sweeney

Volunteer Spotlight -
In Memory of Eugene Hasselbeck
In loving memory of Eugene Hasselbeck, who passed away at age 97. He has been Happy Hooves' longest serving volunteer.
Known to everyone at the barn as "Papa Gene", he was a WWII vet and a friendly face and an amazing help to our therapeutic riding program for the past two decades.
When he was in town visiting family, he was always eager to help with the horses, repairs, fundraisers, whatever was needed. He put up and took down at least half of the Christmas at the Barn decorations every year. He would also be found "just resting his eyes" on the rocking chairs on the front porch! We praise God for his life and all he did to impact others.

Meet Daniel!
Daniel, an eight-year-old draft warmblood cross is one of the newer members of the Happy Hooves and Eden Farms family.
Standing almost 18-hands tall, don't let his size fool you! He is super social and sweet, very photogenic, eager to please, and loves all of the attention from the kids.
Daniel is very athletic. He walks, trots, canters, jumps and is trained in dressage.
He really enjoys trail rides, especially if he can go out with his best horse friend, Jacob!
Be sure to stop by the barn to meet Daniel, he loves making new friends!

We want to thank our most loyal supporters and make all donors and volunteers, new and old, feel appreciated! Your support is essential to our mission to enhance the lives of individuals in the Upstate of South Carolina through the power of the horse.
Happy Hooves is an all-volunteer organization. All funding comes from donations, fundraisers and grants. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, over 80% of our Happy Hooves riders are able to receive therapeutic riding at no charge.
Happy Hooves currently serves more than 500 Upstate children each year through therapeutic riding lessons, summer fun programs and School at the Barn.
School at the Barn has 570 therapy lessons and 570 Equine Assisted Learning lessons each

year. Summer camp has 135 therapy lessons; and we have 400 individual therapy lessons for a total of 1675 lessons per year.
The therapeutic riding programs require an average of 40 trained volunteer positions each week, and run year round, with each volunteer working an average of 3 hours per week.
Eden Farms, home of Happy Hooves, is a beautiful 170-acre property with three arenas, a 40-stall barn that currently houses 25 horses; 10 boarders and 15 therapy horses. There is a newly renovated handicapped accessible playground on the grounds, along with a sensory riding trail with man-made activity stations.
We once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support and your donations. We couldn't help so many special needs children and adults, and at-risk children and teens, without you!

Happy Hooves has been a PATH International Premier Accredited Center since 2005. In fact, we are one of only six Premier Accredited Centers in South Carolina, and the only one in the Upstate. This accreditation is a rigorous process requiring centers to meet stringent requirements for staff, facilities, and programs. A program must be re-accredited every five years.

Your contribution helps special needs children and adults, as well as at-risk children and teens.
Happy Hooves is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
