Updates from the Health Department:
January 29, 2021 COVID-19 Vaccine Update:

Last Friday, the North Shore Health Department (NSHD) was notified by Wisconsin Department of Health Services to expect a very limited number of COVID-19 vaccines. The NSHD received 100 first dose vaccines for this upcoming week (about 17% of the total amount that was requested). With the continued demand for vaccine from the 1A providers, the NSHD has already filled their appointments for the week of February 1, 2021 and will not be sending out a sign-up for open appointments.

NSHD will continue to request COVID-19 vaccine from WI DHS on a weekly basis. We will continue to share information on when and how eligible individuals will be able to sign up for our clinics on either the Friday or Monday of the upcoming week. Click here to sign up for the NSHD COVID-19 Vaccine Updates Email List.

This newsletter includes more info about adults aged 65 years and older, next eligible populations, and vaccinations for veterans at Milwaukee VA Medical Center. February 16, 2021 Election FAQ:

Please click here for frequently asked questions related the upcoming February 16, 2021 election, absentee ballots, and response deadlines. If you have a question that is not listed, please don't hesitate to give us a call at: (414) 962-6690.
Winter Reminders from DPW:
⛄ During winter weather, remember to drive safely and please give Village snow trucks/plows plenty of room to clear the streets. Village crews clear streets starting with the main thoroughfares, the crews then proceed to streets adjacent to schools, after that residential streets and alleys are cleared.

🚒 As the snow piles up, help the Fire Department by adopting the fire hydrant closest to your home or business and keep it free of snow during the winter.

❄ All residents and business owners are responsible for snow and ice removal from public sidewalks adjacent to their properties within 24 hours after a snow event.

🌨 Remember to clear all corners with crosswalks to help the children, elderly, and those with mobility concerns get around the Village.

♻ Please utilize your driveway apron or clear a portion of the parkway for refuse and recycling cart placement. Snow and ice must be cleared around the cart(s) as well as the lid. Please do not place your refuse and recycling carts in the street.
I-43 Project Update:
The I-43 North-South Freeway is among the busiest routes in Wisconsin and is a critical Interstate link between southeast Wisconsin and the entire state. I-43 provides access to manufacturers, merchants, commuters, and tourists within southeast Wisconsin, the Milwaukee metropolitan area, and other areas including Green Bay, Sheboygan, Manitowoc and Chicago.
WisDOT has maintained and rehabilitated the ramps, bridges, pavements, and other structures on I-43 for 50 years. The North-South Freeway has exceeded its design life and it is no longer economical to maintain.
This project includes the expansion of I-43 from four to six lanes, the reconstruction of five existing interchanges along the corridor, and the replacement of the Union Pacific railroad bridge over I-43 in Glendale. The project also includes the expansion of a section of Port Washington Road in Glendale from two lanes to four lanes. During construction, the project will work to keep two lanes open in each direction, similar to existing conditions. Click here for additional project info.
