To start, strict mask measures were put into place. While indoors, everyone must wear a facial covering per the CDCs guidelines. As an extra precaution, state-of-the-art HVAC air filtration systems have been installed in every classroom and office space, as well as the hallways. Easels in every classroom are set as far as apart as possible, with six-feet or more between the students and the model.

Even with all these precautions, it was also important to develop a virtual curriculum to recognize students who were not comfortable with in-person instruction and to lessen the number of students in the building day-to-day. This opportunity allowed us to welcome new instructors to our staff who weren’t able to teach in-person, such as artists Tobias Hall and Darryl Smith.
