The Dubuque Regional Humane Society
is an independent 501(c)3, non-profit organization.  We do not receive funding from the federal, state, or county governments.  We operate through the generosity of people like you.

Who is "In the Doghouse?"

For the next month, each of these company leaders will be fundraising for the animals at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. They are going
In the Doghouse  on April 16th. These leaders are devoting their time and talents to raise money for their "impound fees."

The proceeds will provide medical funding for the transports coming from high-kill shelters to Dubuque. Each transport is saving approximately 25 lives! Please help these generous people get OUT of the Doghouse!

Join us for The Cat's Meow Lounge opening!

We are proud to announce the opening of a community cat room, "The Cat's Meow Lounge." The purpose of community-style living is to give the cats some control over their environment which reduces stress inherent with living in a shelter and puts them in a more relaxed and comfortable setting.

The community cat room will lead to happier, healthier cats that have the freedom to roam, play and socialize.  The Cat's Meow Lounge has climbing courses, hiding spaces, window seats, enrichment toys and lazy loungers. This space will enhance their quality of time here with us at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.

The Cat's Meow Lounge opening will be held on Friday, March 23rd from Noon to 1pm at the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. The Cat's Meow Lounge was made possible through the generosity of Hans & Sue Becker and the Dubuque Racing Association.

 Thank You

As a part of the Distinguished Dolphin program at Prescott Elementary, Brennan Kreimeyer a 5th grader organized a donation drive for the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.

Mary Jacobson inspired Brennan to plan a school wide donation project to help the animals here at the DRHS. The school as a whole raised over $800 worth of supplies! A big thank you to Brennan and all the students at Prescott Elementary!

Out and About

Warmer weather means more trips to the park, longer walks and more chances for your pet to wander off! Make sure your dog or cat has a microchip for identification and wears a tag imprinted with your home address, cell phone and any other relevant contact information.
