ASF joins major policy campaigns to protect clean water and remove dams

ASF's John Burrows has taken a leading role in two initiatives of Maine's Environmental Priorities Coalition. One seeks upgrades on water protections for several streams and rivers important to native species, including Atlantic salmon. The other asks lawmakers to support science-based solutions to dams that restrict migratory fish.

Conservationists pan N.S. Aquaculture Decision

In December the Aquaculture Review Board (ARB) held hearings on a proposed boundary expansion at Cooke Aquaculture's Rattling Beach site. The company has been operating outside the boundaries of its lease for over a decade. On Monday the board decided in favour of Cooke, drawing immediate criticism, including from ASF program director for N.S. and P.E.I. Kris Hunter.
