A Message from EPS School Board
and Administration

As Edina Public School District leaders, we believe that a successful school district is one where all students receive a rich, comprehensive educational experience. One that supports their academic, social/emotional learning, extracurricular and holistic skill development so students can thrive in their next endeavor.

We also believe that each and every student who enters our doors deserves to have high expectations placed on them and it is our obligation to ensure the needs of all student populations are met. With just weeks to go in the 2018-19 school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate our successes and talk about the future.

Edina High School is among the top 10 Best High Schools in Minnesota, according to the newly released ranking by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine’s 2019 rankings are based on revamped methodology and is its largest ranking ever.

Each year, EPS loads up a bus full of readers, grades 6-12, and takes them to a local literature event: Teen Lit Con. Authors, books, teens and fun collided in this all day event that includes author meetings, breakout sessions, writer workshops, and book signings. Teens are able to explore being part of a larger reading community.

South View Middle School will be recognized as one of Minnesota’s premier Unified Champion Schools in the fall issue of the Association of Middle Level Education Magazine. Staff from Special Olympics Minnesota visited South View last week to interview staff and students for a story around the topic of “teaching social responsibility.”

Three Valley View sixth graders have bonded over science and hope to take their award-winning project to national competition next fall. Rahael Achett, Indra Khariwala and Ruhi Kurdikar won numerous awards at state competition with a science project that focused on something they could all relate too – bacteria on school desks.
