SNAPSHOT: Normandale's kindergarten students and Edina High School French students are building connections through classroom visits. EHS seniors studying French led educational games and activities with the kindergartners over the course of two days.

The Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association has selected five EHS freshman to be members of the Middle Level Honors Orchestra. The Orchestra consists of the best string players across the state in grades 7-9.
I mportant end of semester dates
Semester 1 ends Thursday, Jan. 16. Here are grade-related dates to know:
  • Access to grades via the portal will go offline Saturday, Jan. 11, 8 a.m., allowing teachers to begin their work on final grades
  • Final grades will be available on the portal Friday, Jan. 24, 8 a.m.

School Board elects officers for 2020
Edina School Board held their annual organizational meeting on Jan. 6, and began with election of officers for 2020.

  • Treasurer – Matt Fox
  • Assistant Treasurer – Owen Michaelson
  • Assistant Clerk – Julie Greene

LAC to host Legislative Platform Breakfast Jan. 21
The School Board's Legislative Action Committee will host the annual Education Legislative Platform Breakfast on Jan. 21, 7:30-9 a.m. at the Edina Community Center, Room 170. State legislators representing residents of the Edina school district will be present and the LAC will present its 2020 Legislative Platform and update the community on their priorities for the upcoming legislative session. The public is invited to attend. A light breakfast will be served.
Next regular meeting: Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. in ECC Room 349.
