5th graders read Say Something by Peggy Moss to learn more about being an ally. After reading the book, the children collaborated to create their own graffiti wall full of sayings about being an ally!

Getting Ready for Tu B'Shevat

Morah Lieberman's 2nd graders have been hard at work!
After writing about what they like about Tu B'Shevat and the many different foods they eat during Tu B'Shevat, the children helped Morah Lieberman create a beautiful bulletin board in celebration of our upcoming holiday.

שבת שלום

The year is in full swing and gaining momentum with each passing day. Our students are diving deep into the curriculum and reaching further than ever before. This week, our students were able to showcase their analytical thinking and problem solving skills as they cracked the code on the mathematical challenges set forth at our 3rd Grade Family Math Night. Our students are also working hard to prepare for upcoming science fairs and invention conventions. They have investigated their hypotheses
and explored the scientific explanations for their findings. Students have put into practice methods for being an ally and finding ways to support each other. They show this in a variety of ways, whether it is in the classroom or on the basketball court where our teams continue to dominate. We are a very proud BCDS family and this pride is shown in the way we treat each other in and out of school.  We continue to make great strides in this area and are excited for the future of BCDS.

This week, I also had the great pleasure of hosting a breakfast for members of our parents association. It was wonderful to see the excitement and the dedication of so many people who have invested their time and energy to the Bi-Cultural Day School mission. It is with that same energy and excitement that we continue to build upon the strong foundation on which our school was established so many years ago. We continue to build and grow in every way. We continue to Teach Minds...and Reach Hearts each and every day.

April 8th-April 12th

We are excited to announce the dates for our inaugural Health Week, April 8th through April 12th. This is an incredible opportunity to have our students work with experts in the field to drive home a healthy message.

We are looking for volunteers and/or people in the health industry (i.e. Nutritionists, Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors,...) to help with our event.

Students Swing into Golf Week

We have had a blast in P.E. during our annual Golf Week! Coach Pat and Coach Mike taught us about the golf club, how to swing using the letters "Y" and "L," and how to putt. They shared lessons about playing with good sportsmanship and having fun on the golf course.
