Meet Dr. Heather Hendrich
Assistant Superintendent HR + Safety
Heather Hendrich is responsible for district human resources, including personnel selection, collective bargaining, employee policies/issues, and evaluation of principals. She also oversees the transportation department, district safety procedures and strategic safety plans, and collaborates with the Noblesville Police Department on the School Resource Officer program. Prior to joining Noblesville Schools in 2019, Hendrich served as assistant superintendent at Western School Corporation. She holds a doctorate in education from Ball State University.

Congratulations to NHS senior Maggie Hoppel on being named a national Scholastic gold medalist in writing. Hoppel beat out over 300,000 students to be one of only eight gold medalists in the United States and will be honored with a reception at Carnegie Hall and a $12,500 scholarship. Her writing will also appear in a national anthology this summer. Congratulations also to NHS students Addison Cooley, Krista Horbett, Levi Miller and Kaelyn Hart, and NWMS student Bridget Ballard, who brought home state Scholastic writing honors. | | |

White River Elementary staff presented at the April board meeting about how they are using Noblesville Schools’ Going Places motto as an inspiration to visit students in their neighborhoods, welcome new families, host parent workshops, and strengthen their connections with the community.

The school board has responsibility for major district functions including school district governance and oversight, setting school policies, approving funding, strategic planning, and hiring and evaluating the superintendent.
April 18, 2023 Board Meeting Highlights
- A project hearing for the NHS STEM/performing arts expansion was held, with the board approving the needed resolutions to continue moving the project forward.
- Dozens of NHS and NWMS students were recognized for outstanding achievements in writing, basketball, swimming and diving, and wrestling.
- A new math curriculum was adopted for K-8 students based on recommendations from a comprehensive two-year study committee. The process included reviewing instructional practices, studying academic research, analyzing student data, and seeking input from educators and parents. Next steps will include professional development for teachers and support for families.

Kindergarten Time!
Kindergarten registration is April 17-May 12, 2023.
Families with incoming kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year should enroll online before May 12. Once enrolled, schools will invite new kindergartners and their parents to a special orientation session at their school to get ready for the big first day of school!

State Scientists
Congratulations to NHS Biomedical Innovations students on their recent presentation at the Indiana Academy of Science conference. The only high school students chosen to present at the prestigious event for science professionals, their research focused on using microbial materials on high touch surfaces to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. Their conference fees were funded thanks to a grant from the Noblesville Schools Education Foundation.

Hire a Miller Job Fairs
Noblesville High School will be hosting a Hire a Miller job fair on April 27 from 1:30pm-3:15pm. Noblesville West Middle School will also have a student job fair on May 17 from 1:30-3:30pm. Employers looking to hire current or graduating students for summer or full time employment are invited to register by emailing hireamiller@nobl.k12.in.us
