Survey Results

Noblesville Schools has shared highlights from the community survey that was conducted this past spring. On the role of educating students for the world of tomorrow, 94% of respondents said that the district was meeting or exceeding their expectations. Read more here.

Shout out to Hazel Dell cafe aide Jennifer Sargent, whose quick action giving the Heimlich Maneuver saved a student who was choking at lunch. Our staff members are safety trained and we’re thankful for the outstanding care they give to students. Learn more about what to do when someone is choking.

Student Advisory Council

Superintendent Hile launched his Student Advisory Council this month with elementary students getting an overview of district functions at the Noblesville Schools Educational Services Center. The highlight of the morning was a tour of Dr. Hile's office and his Star Wars lego collection. Advisory Council students in grades 6-12 will meet with Dr. Hile later this month.

Meet Karen Carter

Hazel Dell Elementary Principal


Karen Carter has been with Noblesville Schools for 13 years, serving as an assistant principal at North Elementary before joining Hazel Dell as principal in 2014. Prior to that, she was a special education teacher and administrator in Indianapolis. She oversees all staff and programming at Hazel Dell and holds a Master's in special education from Purdue University.

The school board has responsibility for major district functions including school district governance and oversight, setting school policies, approving funding, strategic planning, and hiring and evaluating the superintendent.


August 20, 2024 Board Meeting Highlights


  • The board recognized girls and boys lacrosse for their strong seasons.
  • Noblesville East Middle School highlighted their multilingual educators and programming.
  • Dr. Hile presented the findings from the recent community survey.
  • The board voted to join other districts around the country in pursuing social media litigation.
  • The board approved several career technical education partnership contracts.
  • The board gave final approval on a $17.3 million bond that will fund (1) the replacement of 30-year-old air handling units at Noblesville High School, (2) paving needs throughout the district, (3) an updated girls softball locker room similar to upgrades that were made recently for boys baseball, and (4) an athletic restroom/storage building at Noblesville East Middle School. The bond will not increase the tax rate or use referendum or classroom dollars. It was approved by a vote of 4 to 1, with Laura Alerding voting against the funding.
