Spotlight –

North Elementary was the spotlight school at February’s board meeting. Hare Chevrolet spotlight teachers were highlighted and school leaders discussed math goals and practices educators are working on during eLearning and late start days. North also demonstrated student math games with district leaders.

Noblesville High School Expansion

Noblesville Schools has broken ground on a new multi-purpose high school athletic expansion that will include new courts, additional girls locker rooms, classroom space, athletic office space, and enhancements for wrestling, cheerleading and volleyball.

The high school is over maximum facility capacity with 3,300 students and space to meet student programming needs continues to be a challenge.

The athletic expansion will also free up additional facility space that the district plans to use for a proposed performing arts and STEM classroom expansion.

The current project contract came in under bid at $14.8 million and is funded through a bond (loan) with no use of referendum or classroom dollars and no increase to the tax rate.

Completion is expected in August 2024.

Teaching Partnership with Indiana University

Noblesville Schools has been selected for a special teacher residency grant partnership with Indiana University. The "transition to teaching" program encourages professionals who have already earned a Bachelor's degree to transition their career into teaching, with the grant funds providing financial support during this time. Educators with science, technology, engineering and math backgrounds are especially in high demand. Noblesville High School is currently hosting three of these IU student teachers, in chemistry, physics and journalism.
