Rail Trail Segment 7B - Grand Opening

Join us to celebrate the long-awaited opening of Rail Trail Segment 7, connecting La Barranca and Depot Parks.

This new connector will offer a safe and scenic alternative route to downtown alongside beautiful Neary Lagoon, improving connectivity to the West Side and avoiding Laurel Hill or the busy waterfront. We're so exited to see the trail take shape!

Bike Santa Cruz County sends large team to Green Fondo Event

Thirty-two riders organized as Team Bike Santa Cruz County will participate in the 2025 Green Fondo, a two-day cycling fundraising event focused on carbon reduction efforts. Produced by Climate Ride, Green Fondo will involve 400 cyclists from around the world. Each rider raises $250 to be granted to their chosen approved beneficiary organization. The approved organizations all work to curb carbon emissions in some manner, and many of them are bike advocacy organizations like Bike Santa Cruz County.

Riders will stage from and camp at the Mill Creek Conference Center in the hills east of Pt Reyes. They will choose between three route options ranging between 22 and 100 miles for both Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18.

In this third year of the Green Fondo, Team BSCC will be the largest in the event, and as of this writing, the team is in the lead on fundraising at nearly $14,000! You can support Bike Santa Cruz County by supporting one of our riders. Just click on the team roster tab, choose a rider, and donate!
