Did you miss a sermon or can't remember the good statement made by Pastor Jason recently?
Paul's encouragement to the Corinthians is couched in a sober reality: life is hard, and sometimes it will break us down. From illness, injury, and the wearing down with age, the ailments of our physical bodies are a reminder that our lives in them will not last forever. Despite these facets, Paul's attention is on the inner life that is renewed daily. Within the context of day-to-day challenges, he reminds his audience that suffering is not all there is. There is life and possibility to be seen and embraced.
There is only a resurrection following death. Being faithful is not a magic card exempting us from all forms of suffering, hardship, and hurt. In fact, faithfulness may put us right in the center and in situations of suffering. We believe and hold firmly to the belief that we are able to endure what will come to pass as temporary circumstances fading in a reality beyond what our natural senses perceive.
Seeing beyond suffering does not mean we do not see the suffering. It means believing that our suffering is not the last word. It means trusting that the God who has resurrection power can indeed renew our spirits each and every day.

Morning Devotion
Each day, except Sunday, Pastor Jason shares a brief 4-7 minute scripture reading, reflection, response, and prayer. During the season of Lent, Pastor Jason is sharing the gospel of Mark, which will be read through by Easter. We encourage you to read this gospel. The associated devotion is posted to Prairie Avenue's Facebook page.

June Outreach Project: Faith Comes By Hearing Vision 2033
Until June 30, any gift you give will be matched dollar for dollar, reaching twice the people with God's Word in audio.
Countless multitudes around the world have never heard God’s Word in their own language—if at all. Most could not read the Bible if a printed version were available. They need Scripture recordings in their own language.
Every dollar you give toward our $350,000 Vision 2033 Matching Challenge today goes toward creating and sharing God’s Word with men, women, and children on every continent.

Dear Disciples:
May 28, 2021
“Filled with that fresh fire and fresh power from on high, there are still a ways to go. There is still a new place to which we must travel as church, a new church, with the courage to imagine who we must be how we must serve, how we shall live in this new time and space.” – Rev. Terri Hord Owens
Rev. Terri Hord Owens points to the leading of God over the river Jordan as an example we can follow as we move into the post-pandemic world.
