This sermon series gives us three opportunities to explore sibling rivalries: Esau "Hairy" and Jacob "Heel-Grabber", Leah and Rachel, and the sons of Jacob, whom become the twelve tribes of Israel patriarchs. Sibling rivalry may be a familiar experience for some of us.
This week we meet "Hairy" and "Heel-Grabber." "Hairy" is Esau (it is what his name means); "Heel-Grabber/Trickster" is Jacob. The oldest is Esau/Hairy and the younger (by moments only) is Jacob/Heel-Grabber/Trickster. And like many sibling pairs, they are completely different in attributes and demeanor. One likes hunting and the outdoors; the other stays near tents and inside. Esau has Isaac's favor; Jacob has Rebecca's.
The rivalry between two brothers began in Rebecca's wombs. It only gets worst afterwards. Esau is strong and likable, but he is foolish, exchanging God's promise for a bowl of "red stuff." Jacob is conniving and grasping, but he longs for the birthright and blessing of his father.
Whether strong, likable, but foolish, or conniving and grasping, God works anyway.

We continue to keep updated on proper restrictions, recommendations, and guidance for gatherings and activities to reduce risk of COVID-19 activity and exposure in our faith community. As expected, there has been an uptick in COVID-19 cases statewide with the lifting of group restrictions and reopening of facilities and businesses to the public. At this time, it appears to be managed and not expected to require a reinstatement of more restrictive public health measures.
We are continuing to plan to resume sanctuary worship services on Sunday, June 26 at 9am.
The prohibition of group singing, the requirement of six feet distance between attendees, and other risk-lowering measures will continue. Fellowship hall windows remain open to allow for fresh air. It is expected that the balcony windows will be utilized when we resume sanctuary worship attendance. Thank you for your support and abiding with these required alterations.

Why and How Should I Tell Others? Wednesday, July 15, 6 pm:
It can be difficult to talk to others about the deeper or personal matters of our lives. Certainly our faith in Christ falls into this category. Some people feel that one’s faith is a private matter and should not be discussed with others. However, telling others about our faith is a natural part of our relationship with God. Can we tell without being obnoxious? or embarrassed?
Morning Devotion
Each day, except Sunday, Pastor Jason shares a brief 4-7 minute scripture reading, reflection, response and prayer. This devotion is posted to
