Monthly Munchkin Meetup

Join us for a rousing round of Munchkin! Munchkin is a board game inspired by Dungeons and Dragons and numerous fantasy tropes. Enter the sketchy dungeon. Kick in the door. Form temporary alliances to defeat attacking monsters. Gather equipment, potions, and magic items. Backstab other adventurers and steal their loot. Monday Matinee: Romeo and Juliet (1996)

In the 1996 edition of Romeo and Juliet, a film adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy, Shakespeare's famous play is updated to the hip 1990s suburb of Verona Beach while still retaining its original dialogue. The Capulets and Montagues are bitter rival business empires. When Romeo Montague (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his cousin Benvolio (Dash Mihok) crash a Capulet party, he meets Juliet Capulet (Claire Danes) and the two immediately fall for each other, both unaware of what family the other is from. Meanwhile, Juliet's pugnacious cousin Tybalt (John Leguizamo) spots Romeo and vows to murder him for the intrusion into his family home. Rated PG-13. Snacks provided. Group Reiki

Join Sherry Kowalski to experience reiki. Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety. Reiki will be given in a group setting, starting with a guided meditation. Please feel free to bring a yoga mat and pillow. Please arrive on time for this program. To avoid disrupting participants, anyone that arrives after the guided meditation has started will not be able to join the session. Registration required.

Blood on the Clocktower

In the sleepy town of Ravenswood Bluff, murder has struck. A demon is on the loose, and some of your fellow townsfolk are its minions. In this social deduction game based on classics such as Werewolf and Mafia, players will work together as townsfolk with special abilities to uncover which among them are traitors--or work as traitors to send the town into chaos and keep attention away from their monstrous lord! Lie, bluff, negotiate and logic your way to saving or destroying the town in this unique murder mystery game that follows a classic formula. Capacity of 20. Registration is not required, but recommended if you want to be guaranteed a spot.

Whether you're a seasoned painter or have never picked up a brush, our program is a welcoming space to relax and get creative. Drop in anytime between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM to paint up to two miniatures. All supplies are provided but feel free to bring your own to use! Space is limited to 12 participants, so while registration isn’t required, signing up will guarantee your spot and send you a handy email reminder so you won’t miss out on the fun. Literacy Volunteers Basic Computer Classes

This is a computer basics course offered by the Literacy Volunteers of Broome and Tioga Counties. Classes are intended for individuals with little or no computer experience. Lessons are customized to each group of students. Groups consist of 5 students or less. Topics include:
• Basic computer equipment, vocabulary, and usage
• Windows desktop and files
• Internet usage
• Email accounts
• Microsoft Office and Google Docs
• Online tasks like signing up for accounts or submitting applications

Gentle Yoga

This is a beginner level class, designed for people who are new to yoga or people with an impairment or limitation due to injury, surgery, or an ongoing condition affecting mobility, balance, flexibility, or strength. A typical class will include standing postures for stretching, flexibility and balance, as well as sitting postures on a chair for stretching, flexibility and strength. No previous experience is necessary.

Beginner/Advanced Beginner Yoga
Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15pm
This class incorporates positions involving standing, seated, kneeling, supine and prone poses involving twists, bends, kneeling, inversions, and balancing. Participants should be in generally fit and pain-free condition, with the goal of improving flexibility, mobility, balance, and strength. Previous experience with yoga or other forms of exercise is requested. Classes are funded by The Friends of Broome County Public Library. You will need to fill out a waiver before you can participate in the class. Registration isn't required, however we can only accommodate 25 people.
