Your News from Lancaster City Schools...
As pandemic continues, Lancaster's virtual preschool keeps students learning from home
Lancaster City Schools provides virtual preschool for parents who are not comfortable with their students attending in-person classes. For the past several months, Sarah Mueller, the LCS preschool teacher has provided her students with everything they need to learn from home.

Mueller sends home packets every two weeks with materials for the students to use in their hands-on learning, like crafts and other activities.

"I try to keep the classes close to what they would experience in the classroom, like in a normal year. We get online, sing a "good morning" song, take attendance, check out our agenda and just work through their curriculum," Mueller said. "The kinds have done a great job adapting to this new environment though. They know a lot of the basics for calling in, like muting and unmuting, they can talk with their friends, but they do a good job of staying on task."

What's Happening in Our Schools...

This week starts our Care Package Drive that will run through Friday (1/22). Donated items will benefit individuals experiencing homelessness and will be distributed during the Fairfield County's Point In Time Count on Tuesday (1/26).

Collection boxes are located in each wing of the school and in the office. Thank you for your support!

The holiday season flies by so quick! It's always fun to look back and reminisce on what makes that time of year so special. Here is a collection of all the fun activities our students experienced in December!

While our 7th and 8th grade choirs have endured an uphill battle this year due to COVID restrictions (only humming for the majority of the semester), they should be proud of the way they persevered with an open mind and overall positive attitude.
