Lancaster City Schools provides virtual preschool for parents who are not comfortable with their students attending in-person classes. For the past several months, Sarah Mueller, the LCS preschool teacher has provided her students with everything they need to learn from home.
Mueller sends home packets every two weeks with materials for the students to use in their hands-on learning, like crafts and other activities.
"I try to keep the classes close to what they would experience in the classroom, like in a normal year. We get online, sing a "good morning" song, take attendance, check out our agenda and just work through their curriculum," Mueller said. "The kinds have done a great job adapting to this new environment though. They know a lot of the basics for calling in, like muting and unmuting, they can talk with their friends, but they do a good job of staying on task."
