Your News from Lancaster City Schools...
A message from Superintendent Steve Wigton
Hello LCS family! I hope you are staying well as we continue to live, learn and work with Covid-19. I am proud of each and every one of you for rising to the challenges of this time and working together to keep our schools as safe as possible. Thank you for practicing social distancing, sanitizing, mask wearing and limiting gatherings outside of the classroom. You have done a great job so far, and I encourage you to stay vigilant so that we continue to stay in school together. Someday soon, the concerns from the virus will be in the past. Until then, keep up the hard work and know that by doing so, you are helping your fellow students, teachers, staff members and community stay as healthy as possible.
Salvation Army tours Lancaster, Fairfield County schools collecting donations

Thank you to our Lancaster City Schools' students and staff who donated to this amazing cause that helps the Fairfield County community.
On Friday, Nov. 20, the six-foot tall, eight-foot wide kettle passed through Lancaster City Schools collecting monetary donations from students.

Once donations were collected from the students, Mt. Pleasant's first-ever Student of the Month - fourth-grader Finn Winkel - was given the honor to drop the coins into the kettle.

The Salvation Army in Fairfield County has not had to close once during the pandemic. That has allowed them to continue serving those in need within area communities, and the money raised during the giant kettle event will go back to causes such as the food pantry.
