Avoid areas of scum at Vancouver, Lacamas, and Round Lake

Lacamas Lake warning advisory was removed on Thursday, 7/28. Water sampling is done weekly while a bloom is present, view the latest results at the Washington State Toxic Algae website.

All E.coli sample results for the three designated swim beaches (Vancouver Lake Regional Park, Klineline Pond, and Battleground Lake) collected Monday, 7/25, were below recreational guidance.

The next E. coli sampling date for Vancouver Regional Park, Klineline Pond, and Battle Ground Lake is Monday August 8th.

Harmful algal bloom being monitored at Vancouver, Lacamas, and Round Lakes

There are no current advisories at Vancouver Lake, toxin results have been below recreational guidance. Results can be viewed at the Washington State Toxic Algae website. Public Health staff will continue monitoring the bloom weekly until it dissipates.

Avoid areas of algae and scum while recreating.

WSU Master Gardner Program

The Master Gardner Program is offering events, workshops, nursery tours, and more! Some of the upcoming events include:

"Guided Tour - 78th Street Heritage Farm" on August 6th and 16th,
"Pollinator Posse Workshop" on August 17th

What is Poop Smart Clark?

The Poop Smart Clark program is an outreach program focused on reducing bacteria from poop in local waterways. This program helps to provide technical and financial assistance to community members to help improve this issue and includes everything from reimbursing people for repairing leaky septic systems to helping farmers reduce pasture mud.

Through Poop Smart Clark, this program uses DNA analysis of bacteria to not only detect poop in the water, but also identify the species of animal who did the pooping which can include dogs, horses, cows, humans, racoons, and more.
