Next Sampling Dates

  • E.coli (bacteria): September 2nd
  • Harmful Algae (cyanobacteria): August 25th

Vancouver Lake Testing Restriction is in Effect

Our toxin testing is done through a Dept. of Ecology program, and the recent high toxicity test results at Vancouver Lake are straining resources at the laboratory. As such, we have been asked to move to every-other-week sampling while a bloom is present at Vancouver Lake to preserve supplies.

We will continue inspecting Vancouver Lake every week, and collect toxin samples following the bi-weekly protocol.

The Danger Advisory will remain in place until we have 2 consecutive samples below the advisory threshold.

Bather Visibility

When choosing a swim suit, consider selecting one with bright colors. Wearing bright colors can increase one's visibility in water so lifeguards and others can see if someone is in trouble.

Neon colors perform the best in testing such as neon orange, neon yellow, neon pink, and neon green.

Avoid colors that blend such as white, grey, all shades of blue, and pastels.
