WARNING ADVISORY

  • Lacamas Lake (issued 6/4/2025)



A harmful algal bloom is present and toxicity is above recreational guidance at Lacamas Lake.

  • Swimming or water skiing not advised anywhere on lake.
  • Avoid areas of scum when using motorized boats, paddle boarding, kayaking, or canoeing.
  • Do not drink lake water.
  • Animals should avoid all water contact.
  • When fishing, clean fish well and discard organs.

  • E.coli (bacteria): June 23rd
  • Harmful Algae (cyanobacteria): June 16th 

**CAUTION! A harmful algae bloom was observed this week at Vancouver Lake. While toxin tests were below advisory threshold, conditions change quickly and you should always avoid areas of scum.

Pet Summer Safety!

Remember to always check for toxic algae blooms AND mats. Don't let your pets drink or wade in water with a suspected toxic bloom or mat, and don't let your pets eat mat material. If you suspect your pet is showing symptoms of toxic algae, immediately bring them to your vet. Always remember, when in doubt, STAY OUT!
