WARNING ADVISORY

  • Lacamas Lake (issued 6/4/2025)
  • Vancouver Lake (issued 6/18/2025)



A harmful algal bloom is present and toxicity is above recreational guidance at Lacamas Lake and Vancouver Lake.

  • Swimming or water skiing not advised anywhere on lake.
  • Avoid areas of scum when using motorized boats, paddle boarding, kayaking, or canoeing.
  • Do not drink lake water.
  • Animals should avoid all water contact.
  • When fishing, clean fish well and discard organs.

  • Harmful Algae (cyanobacteria): July 7th

Stay safe while celebrating July 4th

A few important safety reminders:

  • Always have a bucket of water and water hose ready to douse any fire.
  • Assign a responsible adult to supervise fireworks use.
  • Use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from buildings, vehicles and dry vegetation.
  • Never hold or aim fireworks at people or structures.
  • Never attempt to alter fireworks or relight “duds” that fail to ignite.
  • Soak used fireworks in a bucket of water overnight before placing in garbage.
