The minimum flow rate of your spa is based on both your volume and desired bather load. For a higher bather load, you must have a higher flow rate. In general, the entire volume of the spa must go through the sanitizer/filtration system at least every *30 minutes:
Volume / *30 min = required flow rate
Flow rate / 6.67 = bather load
Example:
1,200 gal / *30 min = 40 gpm
40 gpm / 6.67 = 6 persons
*Heavily loaded spas such as at gyms or health clubs should maintain a 20 minute turnover rate
