Private/Reserve Tasting

Did you know there is also a Private/Reserve tasting at Wine Fest? This year's theme is one you don't want to miss! It will feature six vintages of two producers that competed in the famous "Judgment of Paris" in 1976 for a direct comparison of Bordeaux and California.

Not familiar with this? Get a crash course by watching the movie Bottle Shock . The private tasting runs from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (with access to the balance of Wine Fest afterwards) for only 12 guests. Click here to buy your ticket(s) today before it sells out!
Wine Wisdom
On the counter, in the wine rack, in the wine fridge or just the regular fridge. Where do you put your wine when you get home from the store?

There have been different thoughts about where to keep wine, from temperature to the amount of light that hits the bottle. It can vary by varietal, age or who is talking.

Wine Spectator has several suggestions, such as keeping the bottles between 45°F and 65°F (with 55 °F being perfect) and keeping them in the dark.

Wine Folly points out that wine ages four times faster at room temperature. Four times faster? Wow! Note, they have a smaller range for ideal storing temperatures, 55°F – 59 °F.

As an afterthought, if you're wondering how to store an open bottle (if you and friends happen not to finish it), check out this article from Vine Pair . Cheers!
