We, at Myeloma Canada, have heard loud and clear, that early diagnosis is a top priority for patients. Getting primary healthcare providers to recognize the signs and symptoms of myeloma early on and refer patients for further evaluation to specialists, like hematologists, can greatly impact quality of life and overall outcomes for people living with the disease. Therefore, a group of patient volunteers from the Greater Toronto Area have joined our Executive Director, Martine Elias, to increase awareness and share information about diagnosing myeloma to the thousands of Canadian general practitioners attending the annual Family Medicine Forum conference organized by the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Toronto.
