NATIONAL HANDWASHING WEEK

National Handwashing Awareness Week is from December 5th to 11th. Now is a great time to remind our students that they can help guard against Flu, Covid, RSV, and other illnesses that surround us by washing their hands often.

Experts recommend washing your hands with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds, remembering these easy steps:

  • Wet hands.
  • Place a dime-sized amount of soap in the palm.
  • Scrub and lather vigorously for a minimum of 20 seconds, making sure to get each finger, in between fingers, scrub nails on palms, backs of hands, and wrists.
  • Rinse all soap off of hands thoroughly.
  • If available, use a paper towel to turn off the faucet. If a paper towel is unavailable, try using your elbow or arm instead of your hands.
  • Thoroughly dry hands using paper towels or a hand dryer.

Remember, clean hands prevent sickness.

KINDERGARTEN PARENT INFORMATION MEETING

WINTER PREPAREDNESS

With the arrival of winter weather, it is important to remember a few safety tips to prevent slips, trips, falls, and accidents.

  • Wear footwear with good traction and insulation (i.e., insulated and water-resistant boots with good treads).
  • Take short steps and walk at a slower pace to react quickly to changes in traction.
  • Use handrails where provided when going up and down steps.
  • Slow down while driving through the parking lots.

We do our best to clear the sidewalks and parking lots; however, the weather can change at any time, so please be careful and mindful of the conditions.
